James Bond Might Actually Die Mossy

Peter's Evil Overlord List. Quality, stating the obvious, all the things that an evil person does that usually causes their demise.

Some of my favourites:
I will hire a talented fashion designer to create original uniforms for my Legions of Terror, as opposed to some cheap knock-offs that make them look like Nazi stormtroopers, Roman footsoldiers, or savage Mongol hordes. All were eventually defeated and I want my troops to have a more positive mind-set.
Oh, lol
I will not fly into a rage and kill a messenger who brings me bad news just to illustrate how evil I really am. Good messengers are hard to come by.
Don't forget the really easy to use flash-like interfaces.
My main computers will have their own special operating system that will be completely incompatible with standard IBM and Macintosh powerbooks.
Every single action-hero movie has this.
When arresting prisoners, my guards will not allow them to stop and grab a useless trinket of purely sentimental value.
What are yours?

The time has come after many years of wondering and pausing to whether I should buy a mac. Initially I was like, Macs suck, why would I buy a Mac (Pre OSX)? Then I was like, I like Macs they're really cool (Post OSX), but I don't think that macs have everything I need to do stuff, like ASP development or anything like that.

But with the whole iPod stuff and the huge amount of people switching. Even my brother R, who has only gotten into the Web and stuff over the last 8 months, is considering a Mac. He bought an iPodPhoto a few weeks ago and since then is nuts about apple stuff.

So, since I heard that Tiger is coming out at the end of the month, I'm like, I'm getting me a Mac Mini and I'm giving up ASP development (at home anyway).

I already have a Pentium 4 machine. I got it 3 years ago. I'm going to turn that into a linux machine to build a test email server with my free book. I will also use it as a file / music server because the Mac will be the 40 Gig one (I can't afford the 80 gig). I'm giong to put Ruby on the linux box aswell and do all my coding from the Mac, as I want to learn ruby. There is a huge buzz around it in the sites that I visit frequently. I will also be putting Tomcat on it to get back into JSP.

So what will I use the Mac for? Email, Office, Web browsing and Web Design. It will be clean and lovely and tidy up my desk. Although I will still be using a 17" CRT. Wont be able to afford a Flat Screen for a while. Not till the end of the year.

That's about the jist of it. You are now updated on nerdy things in my life at the moment.

RateMyTeachers.ie Mossy

This thing is causing a lot of grief ... for teachers that is. Personally I think this can only be positive. If a teacher sees they have a low rating then they can view the comments. Most are probably pretty constructive, so they can learn what the students think of them with anonymity.

Take A former teacher of mine for example (Link). This is very true. He taught me physics. I got a D3 in physics, but I don't blame him for it. I really enjoyed physics, I was just shit at it.

There seems to be a lot of good ratings for the teachers of CBS. And a lot of the comments are true. It's weird looking back at it, I suppose it wasn't that bad. After 4 years of college, all I reference is college, but I suppose CBS was a character builder too.

Brain Chip Reads Mans Thoughts Conor

Monday, April 04, 2005 comments 1 comments links to this post

How scary is this?

This guy in America, Matthew Nagle, 25, was left paralysed from the neck down and confined to a wheelchair. However, now he can now control everyday objects by thought alone. The brain chip reads his mind and sends the thoughts to a computer to decipher. All he has to do is think, for example; "Turn off the TV", and the TV turns off. It only depends on which devices and the software are linked together.

Mr Nagle has also been able to use thought to move a prosthetic hand and robotic arm to grab sweets from one person's hand and place them into another.

Obviously it is extreamly good for people who are paralysed, but what if (maybe I'm jumping the gun a bit here) it is going to be used to find out what people are thinking and use that information against them? For example here

You can read the whole story here

Review: Sideways Mossy

Where do I start? I knew sideways was going to be a film I would enjoy before entering the cinema. Do I know why? No. When you think a movie about two guys who go on a road trip, you think that new harold and kumar filmy thing.

This film is not like them. It's about 2 older than young men, who go wine tasting, meet some girls, get in trouble. It's not slap stick. It's just intelligent humour.

Water On Mars Mossy

Water Found on Mars.
Can you help discover water on Mars? Finding water on different regions on Mars has implications for understanding its complex geologic history, the possible existence of past life and the sustenance of potential future astronauts. Many space missions have taken photographs of the surface of the red planet, and some of them might show a subtle clue pointing to water on Mars that has been missed. By close inspection of images, following curiosity, applying scientific principles, applying knowledge about features on the Martian surface, and applying principles of planetary geology, such clues might be brought to light.

I didn't know that ID tags had to be unique. And here is me using them all over the place for CSS design. Should I only use one of each? Should I use CLASS for any elements that are using the same CSS styles?
