Tramore 15-year-olds get Microsoft contract: Irish Times
Four pupils at Tramore CBS have won the Young Entrepreneurs Scheme with their website company Tourweb. Tourweb clients include Waterford Castle, Chernobyl Aid Ireland, Microfix Computer Training and Microsoft. Lisa Temple-Ashmore, educational software manager of Microsoft, did not realise she was dealing with school students when she received their professional approaches by email suggesting a market gap for an interesting IT-related site aimed at the 13-18 age group. She commissioned the Virtual Adolescent site and as a result of this and other projects Tourweb made a €3000 profit last year. The four pupils are Tomás Breen, Joseph Flavin, David Power and Ken Smith.
Stop googling yourself ya big egomaniac!
How did they make a 3000 EURO profit given its from 1998?? Looks like a hoax to me…
God, the Virtual Adolescent! What an embarrassment!!!! If I ever go on “This is your life” I’m sure they’ll bring that up and make me cringe. Or maybe just a photo of us looking geeky with that blonde Microsoft woman. Daithí
